‘American Sniper’ Shines A Bright Light

This weekend my wife and I went to the movies and watched “American Sniper.” We like much of America viewed the film through civilian eyes whose only contact with the war on terror has come through our television screens, radio programs, and print media. We have lived our lives in relative ignorance of the dangers of the war and threats. I know there are people who have suffered personally during these years of battle and too many have seen sons and daughters, husbands and mothers, brothers and sisters wounded, injured, and killed in the war for freedom. I thank each person for his or her sacrifices and service to our country.

We live under a blanket of protection provided by men and women who think more highly of others than they do of themselves. They are patriots who believe in the greater good than comes through the horrors of war.

Even if the Left and PC crowd refuse to identify things in this world as evil, we are always engaged in a war with evil. The Bible reminds us that our struggles are not against individuals but against world forces of darkness “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”Ephesians 6:12 (NASB)
